There will be a bunch of people that inevitably miss out because they fell for the "LINK is a meme" meme. Even though this is something worked on for years and has "smartcontract.com" domain name etc. Now I'm not saying the domain name is a reason to buy but it sets the tone. This isn't some pajeet bandwagon project trying to join the hype (e.g. REQ). This is real big business, the standard for enterprise level smart contracts. By imaginary coin im sure you mean bitcoin, and no. While I would recommend trading for some other form of crypto on the exchange, I am pretty sure you can buy it with a credit card. If you cant, just buy ETH with a card and trade it for LINK. Its braindead easy.

MEW is fine. No wallet is particularly more secure than the other(except hardware wallets) the security depends on the user. Never give anyone your private key/mnemonic phrase. NEVER GIVE IT TO ANYONE. Your public key is where you send your money, give that to whoever you want. I would also recommend formatting your hard drive and installing linux before you jump in just in case you have a keylogger hidden in your computer, but thats just me being paranoid.
