That if I say "I'm interested in the tech", nobody will ever believe me (because the majority is in it for the money).

It was shilled to me in 2010. Decentralized programmable p2p cash sounded appealing, but I was always skeptical of bitcoin because I didn't know what was wrong with it YET. I measured the risk correctly, but didn't account for reward.
I watched it climb from $0.01 to $15 to $300 to $1,000 before mtgox finally exposed bitcoin's achilles heel. Which is the counterparty risk from centralized exchanges and straight up thieves on the deep web.
I then read an article about ethereum and it's smart contracts that could eliminate the external risks from centralized exchanges and deep web thieves.
I asked bitcoiners about it and they all said it was just vaporware and it would never be released. Good thing I ignored their warning. Because I turned $100 into about $20k.

I'd rather hold Zcash and Monero than sluggish granddaddy BTC. LMAO. OP is a corecuck.

>> No.13187242

OP is a faggot. We accumulate alts to make gains in fiat value. BTC won't always be the default trading pair. Don't you get it? BTC doesn't matter anymore

There are a lot of idiots here and a lot of good advice and discussion. You need to learn to filter out the scams and shills and biz is the best place to discuss crypto I've used.

But you can say the same for bitcoin because people accumulate it to sell it at the top for fiat.

That if you pay enough autists to bruteforce shill something enough, you can make a bunch of spergs and pajeets dump their collective and have them act like smug asshats about it all day

In this sense, /biz/ did what was impossible to /b/ and made Milhouse a meme

1. Most people have no clue what the fuck they're doing when it comes to investing
2. Most people will still throw their entire life savings at technology which they haven't the foggiest clue of its workings.
3. As soon as anybody invests in anything, the ability to recognize flaws in that investment disappears
4. Criticizing someone's investment causes irateness proportional to how desperate that person is for that investment to succeed

The time to get out of a coin is when you see 3 shill threads all with 30+ replies

>> No.13187903

So if another coin besides BTC has a unique purpose that you know BTC won't touch. Does that still make it an altcoin? From what I understand an altcoin is an alternative system to Bitcoin. But Bitcoin doesn't do smart contracts and it doesn't do a lot of other things.
