Is investing into crypto risky?

So today I read a post where some anon was explaining how cryptos are basically no sure way to becoming a millionaire and how it's better to invest into business. It didn't really sound like a FUD, because the post was kinda long and went deep into the functions of BTC, XMR, and even ETH.
Now I haven't actually made any deep research (I just have a vague understanding of why crypto is needed, I don't even know how blockchain works though), but I've been putting 90% of my money into crypto (the rest goes to rent and food) and I unironically thought it's 100% certain that BTC, ETH, XMR and LINK will moon in the next 5 years and I did not even consider that I could lose that money. But after reading that post, I am slightly confused whether I am delusional or if the guy was just FUDding (again, I don't know because I don't really understand the mechanics behind crypto).

Can anybody tell me the truth?
