I have an exceptional academic record and have applied for Cambridge part 3. Going to Cambridge has been something I've dreamed of for ages, I had the grades at undergrad but didn't apply cause I'd abusive family crap. This was my time to shine, it looked like I had a really good shot at it based off transcript and experience. About 2 months ago I got in a ridiculously violent fight (not gonna greentext it but I was 100 percent without doubt morally right), and have spent ages recovering physically and sorting it all out legally. I know that if my interview is academic, it's ogre. My knowledge just isn't there and won't be there in a few weeks, am obviously trying best but it's just not gonna happen.

I feel like such a fucking loser. This is the first time I could truly fail and I don't know how I'll take it. How does biz deal with failure?

You're announcing failure before you've interview. You will fail with that attitude

what do you mean ' if the interview's academic'? Is this to get into an undergrad programme? Which subject? Have you tried googling to see if anyone's reported what the cambridge interviews are like for your subject? try thestudentroom or something. As long as you're knowledgeable enough at the A-level tier in your subject you'll be fine in an interview. Remember, they just want to see evidence that you are enthusiastic about the subject, that you're capable of independent thought and are open to wider reading than just the course textbooks.

if you get in you get in, if you don't you don't. worrying about it makes no difference

after a quick google there's a fair bit of info out there. Even some example interview vids on youtube. Good luck.
