I'm at a point where only about 30% of my monthly income goes to bills and the rest is just accumulating. I'm 22 years old and prior to this last year, I was pretty broke my whole life. I've recently hit $10,000, I've bought everything I've wanted to buy as short term goals (car, electronics, paying debt, etc).

What do you do when you reach this point? The obvious answer is to just keep saving, but if there's money sitting around that money can be put to work can't it? Saving up for a house I suppose is the next "step" in life, but I don't work a job that I think I'd be able to afford a mortgage with until I'm making a couple more dollars an hour.

I work at Amazon right now for $15.60 an hour, however I have an associates degree in business but I've never really attempted to find a more suitable job or even a career. I also have 9 credits earned toward a bachelors and I've considered taking out a student loan to pay for the rest of my tuition, and using my savings to take off work for a year and pay for rent to finish my bachelors.

This was obviously an autistic amount of text and hopefully someone can give me the obvious answer of what to do with myself

I feel like I've just read my own post, except I only have $9k and I'm 25

A bachelors isnt a bad idea but dont go too far into debt for it. Maybe try to get financial aid by playing with your taxes a little bit. Then you practically get paid to go to school thanks to the pell grant.

in terms of what to do with 10k, it depends on good you are at crypto trading, Ive been day trading for years so im comfortable trading 5-10k daily and do well but if your not experienced your gonna get rekt. So maybe save more and think about buying some property(foreclosed even) as you could get it dirt cheap and slowly make it suitable to rent out. Housing market is high right now but you'll never lose your investment if you buy property.

Another good idea so you don't have to quit your job and you don't get raped by tuition is an online degree. Get it from a normal university that's local to you and its just as valuable because its still from a local school that isn't purely online. Much easier and reaps the exact same benefit. The stereotype of online degrees is gone thanks to most Only online schools getting sued and most online programs being from normal universities now.

I will unironically advise you to buy crypto
Do not try to be a daytrading hero, just use your 10k to buy >3 BTC when the spring flash crash comes
Spend them on 5 promising coins that are not retarded shitcoins and have been around for some time
I'd go for ETH, Monero, Doge OMG, Stratis and maybe DashCoin
You do just that and you'll end up with >21BTC if you play it smart and slow
You're gonna make it in 3 years.

I'm somewhat similar, work for $15/hr, live with parents and have saved over $100k at 25 yrs old (part of that was from the bitcoin bull run). I don't say this often, but personally I'm putting most of my money in Hashgraph once it launches. They will fud it and call it centralized and closed source, but trust me, that's where the money is going. If you are more risk averse, maybe look for income generating property (which you might need to save up for), or just start averaging into a stock index. Keep in mind we are nearing the top of the business cycle with the yield curve inverting recently while corporate and govt debt and deficits skyrocket, which we should have been paying down by now, so be weary of taking out a loan. I say it's best to just keep saving and decide in a few years when the economic situation is less turbulent

lol he means get your own place then you wont have any extra money to save because you'll have to pay rent. Dont listen and just stay at ur parents, until you get a series gf or married there's no reason to give a fuck about staying with ur parents.

that's what I thought he meant lol

Unfortunately my dad's a boomer that's constantly telling me that I should move out even though I'm paying him rent, have a job, and trying to progress in my career. As for women I'm not going to bother right now, too much to do.
