probably not. there's just too many tokens for each to be worth much individually so unless you have a whole lot, you won't make much. the whole penalty system has been put on the back burner and launching without it will demonstrate the money is to be made running nodes not just holding tokens.

Not really, ETH had a legit team from the very beginning. It was mostly BTC maximalists who considered smart contracts a meme. Link is just a huge promise from a tiny team with little credentials.
