13069611 No.13069611 [Reply] [Original]

I'm starting to believe that we're living the very last days of the most luxurious timeline of mankind.

There's just no way for us to recover, the damage is no longer a wound but a limp lose.

All our hardwork will go down the drain, whether it's cash or at the bank.
But at least no matter how much you have you don't really have anything compared to the real target of the crash, especially when they can no longer afford the security guards they hire.

OP I have been saying this for years. The time we live in, RIGHT NOW, is the most decadent and gaudy time in human history. Historians are going to look back on this and view it as the 1920’s on steroids

Anyways it wont happen again for a long time. We are completely screwed. The upcoming financial crisis will be far deeper and global than anything the Great Depression was. And it will be followed by even more violence

>> No.13069823

>>13069772
I don't think so. I believe the economy is due for a correction but 3rd world countries have been manipulated for a long time to produce for the West with basically free labor.

However a war scenario can happen given that even though this is the best time ever nowadays, people aren't happy for some reason and shit may go down due to political instability. Who gives a fuck, we've had it too good for too long, if a couple normalfags get killed it's not that bad

>> No.13069836

>>13069823
Look it’s going to happen, it’s just a matter of when not if. You’ll realize this once the economy collapses, everything will be far more fragile than basically anyone thought. It may happen 10 years after, but it will be worse than anything we’ve seen

Also the crash may not happen like you think. If they QE again, you’ll have your money in the bank...but guess what it won’t be worth anything. So stocks and precious metals all assets etc may just melt up, and anyone sitting on cash or bonds is going to be JUSTd to another dimension

This, this is by far the worst thing. Valuing human survival and reproduction at all costs, and convenience at all costs...humanity is done. After this collapse there isn’t going to be an earth to go back to, most species are going to be extinct; the oceans will become a plastic dump, and who knows what the effects co2 wmission has had on the biosphere, literally no one knows since it’s too complex to understand.

It’s literally over. And on a side note it makes me realize that if there’s any other intelligent life out there in the universe, they probably end up meeting the same fate. It’s very hard to go from large scale civilization to interplanetary one without completely fucking yourself in between

The energy bottleneck. Probably why we've never been contacted by intelligent life. If a species can't figure out sustainable, non polluting, non C02 emitting energy use it will die out.

The amount of time we've been burning fuel for is absolutely tiny, yet we've destroyed our life support systems in that time to the point where we might only have a few decades left. Humanity is done, and there's probably nothing we can do about it.

The problem is, only a small percentage of the papers fall into this category; Cook does not say what percentage, but when the study was publicly challenged by economist David Friedman, one observer calculated that only 1.6 percent explicitly stated that man-made greenhouse gases caused at least 50 percent of global warming.

Build small models scaled to similar pressure/density atmospheric distributions. Attempt to heat them with radiation. See if different gas combinations are better insulators than others. Attempt to build a working model of how heat energy is lost through the atmosphere. Marry the two.

It is brainlet tier to figure out whether CO2 and CO, homogeneous, gaseous mixtures are less conductive. It is less brainlet to study what chemical transformations happen in different mixtures at different pressures and temperatures and lighting conditions but is still doable. Using the latter study to attempt to model heating retention increases would give a more meaningful result.

Compare these models to the increase in aggregate spot temperatures measured over time on our planet. See if this correlates strongly to industrial CO2 plus estimates of tundra methane release + livestock release + reduced capture for plankton and forest loss.

Do another study of the geological and fossil records to see if ocean carbonic acid indicators and changes in biomass reflect similar correlations with expected increases in CO2 emissions.

This isn't to say that we can't re-engineer the climate. I actually think people who say that the climate change wasn't caused by us and is happening naturally are the worst bunch because they believe the logical conclusion of that argument is that we must roll over and take it. Believing that it's man made implies that man can change it to something more favourable and that we don't all have to sit back and either let the earth kill us or unplug all our shit and wait for it to fix itself.

They're aware of the environment believe it or not. So aware in fact that just about every major home insurance provider exited the southeast when it became apparent that hurricanes were either going to force them to raise premiums to public outcry levels or wreck them financially if they continued to insure at lower premiums.

Just because traditional economics education isn't designed to handle externalities through the market doesn't mean the market doesn't price in externalities that are risks to them. This is literally what the insurance industry was designed to do.

>Finance is where the smart self interested people go, you think the're going to let themselves get fucked by a real estate crash if it was real?
So are you saying they actually did? Oh wait... it was almost like there was a government mandate to make every american a home owner regardless of income or credit and government favors were only granted to those banks who followed the mandate of giving NINJA (no income, no job) loans and that all the programs through which these loans were provided were backed in theory by various government mortgage organization.

They knew they would get bailed out even if there was a crash. They were shocked that Lehman was allowed to fail (but that's bc Lehman brazenly doubled down on mortgages while anticipating bailout if it went south). And lets remember that before that point mortgages were basically guaranteed money due to the creditor being able to seize the house in default, and home prices were either stable or rising since forever.

From banks perspective, this is called "Heads I win, tails you lose" in economics though we call it moral hazard.

A private banking sector that does not serve the needs of the public is no substitute for a public banking sector.
