No interest rates going up is a good thing. Obama dropped them to 0 in 2008 to try and put breaks on the recession. It's a marker of economic good fee fees

The current global recession / chaos and many currency crises are driving demand for a safe haven like the dollar, temporarily. But that won't last forever. US debt grew 6% of GDP last year, the US government is essentially printing over $1 trillion dollars, or 25% of the money supply ever year. And this has been going on for a long time. In the last 50 years per worker productivity has increased over 10x due to advancements in technology, but purchasing power and quality of life of Americans has actually decreased. Advancements in technology hide the effects of inflation and wealth disparity. But technological progress is slowing, and the government is taking on unprecedented amounts of debt. With out printing money the US economy would have shrunk 3% instead of grown 3% last year which would be as bad as the GFC in 2008. But this time we call this a "booming economy," so imagine what the crash is going to be like. And I'm talking in the next few years, I'm not predicting a crash next month. Just like ponzi schemes this will go on for a lot longer than people think it can. But eventually the parabolic growth of the debt, the normalization of debt monetization through QE (aka printing money), is going to lead to a collapse of the US dollar and likely every other fiat currency. Its just a matter of when and how long the charade can last.
