***THIS IS THE OFFICIAL DIGITAL CURRENCY THREAD***

/biz/ is for all things business and finance, some of us coiners consistently create much too many necessary threads which seem to often dominate the board. To respect all users of /biz/, I kindly ask all crypto-coiners to direct their discussion about all things digital currency to this thread and to keep it in this thread in order to prevent the crypto community from becoming more hated than it already is on /biz/.

you can't mine BTC on your own except maybe cloud mining which is expensive so forget about that. that leaves you with mining ETH option which will probably climb to $100 per coin somewhere year end.
Currently you get 5 ETH coins per week if single mining on 100MH/S rig - which is x6 ATI 280X sometimes you can get lucky and hit 10 ETH per week, sometimes it's 2 weeks no block.

So your GPU might give you 12MH/S which leaves you with option of pool mining - you loooking at mining about 1 ETH per week probably on that. hope this information help you succeed fellow crypta niga

Don't bother mining, rewards are going to be cut in half in a few weeks anyways. You're several years late to get on board with that at a consumer level.

First make an account on bitcointalk.org, look around in the different areas. Make an account on poloniex or yobit, deposit some of your coin there, and trade small amounts of shitcoin. You can see what all the different coins claim to do in the altcoin announcement section on BCT. Most of them don't actually do anything, some have a couple of uses, just pick ones you like, but also make sure they have some volume. Bitcrystals is a fun concept, and Rubies are interesting as well. I've personally got some BTC tied up into Gamecredits, too.

>> No.1307113

>>1307078
First you're going to want to download a wallet on your computer, I recommend Electrum for small amounts. Once you get that set up, send your Bitcoin from Coinbase to your wallet. From there you can send it anywhere. One you set up an account with an exchange, you are given a deposit address for every cryptocurrency they host (found either in a withdrawal/deposit tab or a wallets tab). You deposit the Bitcoin to the BTC deposit address, and once it is credited, you can place orders for whatever coin you want.

It's really confusing at first, and you'll probably lose most of your money, but emersing yourself in the operations is the best way to go about it.

It's really easy to get Bitcoin, so don't worry about losing it. If you set up an account on Bitcointalk and actively participate, your account will rank up over time. As your account ranks up, you can begin participating in giveaways and signature campaigns (basically you get paid to advertise in your signature). With my current account, I get paid .09 BTC every month, as long as I make 50 posts within that month. It's not a huge amount, but that's over a Bitcoin a year just for doing something I would be doing without the incentive.

If you have a skill, like coding, writing, translation, etc. there is plenty of freelance work to take up, too.

If you don't have free time or interest, none of this really applies, but if that's the case, you should invest more than $10.

Hindsight is 20/20 as they say.
No way of knowing at the time, you put in as much as you were willing at the time, no way of knowing where the price would go back then, and that's not even considering you might have cashed out much earlier than this current price if you had that much invested in fear of losing those gains.

My wife's son and I saw Donald Trump at a grocery store in Manhattan yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for specifics on his policies about fiat or the federal reserve.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken back, and all I could say was “Gold Standar...” but he kept cutting me off and going “TrumpCoin! TrumpCoin! TrumpCoin!”

and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle with the secret services as I walked off.

When I came to EBT for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen American Flag Zebra Cakes in his hands without paying (apparently he owned the store or something)

The trans at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.”
At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the cakes and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me.

I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each cake and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Bout to dump my savings in on ETH. I have two questions though.

What caused the downward trend 3 months ago that brought ETH to $7 USD?

DESU, thinking DAO's hack will affect Ether in the long term is like saying that the price of aluminum will plummet because some big name automobile company issued a massive recall due to bad welds on their aluminum-body cars. It's the engineer's fault, not the medium's.

I'm kicking myself right now as a self-envisioned long-term investor for not caving and selling at $19.50eth/USD yesterday like I was thinking about doing, because then I'd have had free cash on hand to buy this awesome dip.
