Because he's much more confident in he security of bitcoin. XMR is designed to be a quick, dirty, private medium of exchange, not a long term SoV. It has to hardfork regularly to adjust it's difficulty, which is dangerous. And it's incompatible with critical blockchain infrastructure, such as hardware wallets.
