Is anyone here a finance major or familiar with graphing and math using excel? Yes ive already googled, youtubed, and checked kahn academy and after 3 exaustive hours im still struggling. Just a tired college student looking for some help

Your function that you are trying to maximize (your yearly profit function?) is 1.1*x - x + 1.2*y - y = 0.1*x + 0.2*y is a linear function, so you can use Dantzig’s simplex algorithm. Basically, the darkest region that is bounded by your linear constraint functions (the one that satisfies all constraints) will be the only region that you check for your maximum profit. With the simplex algorithm, you pick one of the corners on your feasible region, and check to see if its edges are increasing or decreasing. If all of its edges are decreasing, then you found the maximum profit combination. Otherwise, it has at least 1 edge with increasing profits. Follow the edge, and repeat from step 1.

OP, go to Excel, click on the Data tab and see if you can find something called 'Solver', it's what you use to do Linear Programming on Excel.

I assume you've already handed this thing in.

But set your Objective to achieving Maximum Yield, by Changing how much you allocate to Cocoa and Lithium - Subject to the Constraints you've written down.

There are youtube videos which give an overview of how to use Solver on Excel.

I could be wrong about what they're asking in this question though, maybe they literally want you to do matrix multiplication in Excel, I wouldn't know how to do that, I assume there's some function you can use.

I didn't know the level on biz was so low. Damn, what trash you must be to have to ask this on the internet.
