when 99% of the projects in the cryptospace are pie-in-the-sky vaporware with small amateur teams behind them, and Chainlink fits the bill

Also Sergey literally abandoned his last project, that is a fact that cannot be debated.

He did abandon it after it made many people extremely rich. Hope he does the same thing with link honestly.

It is a scam, but it is /ourscam/

lets be clear: calling chainlink a scam is a disservice to how bad it actually is. there are hundreds of ico/funding tokens scams out there, chainlink isn't one of them.

chainlink is just not a project that's going to make you rich. it tries to bridge the gap between data and smart contracts, but in doing so, it's unable to extract any value from that position. smart contract devs are moving along without chainlink, and when/if it's ever released, it will be clear that inserting themselves as a middleman only lets them pick up the scraps. their model doesn't even allow chainlink to act as a trusted middleman due to their fee/collateral model, and the network effects of chainlink are non-existent when compared to the network effects of the platforms that would (in theory) be using them.

If you visit /biz/ during the 2017 bullrun you would've noticed immediately.

LINK ICO's and Binance listing were at a peak in the perfect time when the other coins where bottoming before 10x.
So those who invested in LINK unironically missed the 2017 bullrun. While other smarters people were buying LINK at 1500-1800 sats few weeks later.
