Probably were going to get fired anyway desu. Generally employers don't want sick people coming in (not because they give a shit about your wellbeing, but because you pose a risk of infecting other employees). Plus its usually easier to just have someone out for a few days and take the loss of productivity rather than go though the process of firing and hiring someone new.

In Canada I believe its 36 that being said what my friends do is work for 6 months for seasonal work get laid off go on EI and then work at a relatives business for cash.
