You can currently get 50/1 (5000) odds on Yang winning 2020. In other words, he only needs to win 2% of the time. I’ve never bet on politics, but these odds seem pretty amazing to me. He is being shilled hard on /pol/ and has done a lot of interviews with influential people. He’s a good speaker, a very likeable guy and has a clear message.
Thoughts on placing a small moonshot bet on him winning? Do I believe too much in meme magic?

I’m not saying he’s the most likely winner (far from). I’m saying there’s more than 2% chance that he will win.

Normies will never accept this dramatic UBI concept until it’s forced upon them, and right now this issue isn’t top priority. And also Asian president? Lmao

about as likely as getting a woman in the house

people seem to think obama was the start of something, i think everybody has learnt their lesson since then.

it can never be forced on anybody because the rich who would have to bankroll the entire thing would just leave. theres not enough money to give everybody enough a month for free without destroying the rest of the economy.

with all of that free money sloshing around companies/wealthy will just leave, and import goods into the us from abroad, who cares about import tax when everybody has free money to send on overpriced shit?

I don't disagree but visionaries understand it will be a top priority during the next term, so we have the option to be early or late to it. I wish other candidates would adopt UBI as Yang is not really a good candidate overall but he's absolutely correct with his logic here. Everyone worrying about automation BTFOing most Americans and yet giving those Americans money at the expense of big business is seen as community or socialist or whatever. People are going to be fucked within the next 5-6 years. We're going to see some riots. It's going to be awesome.

You could easily move to a non-urban town and pay like $300/mo rent and live off of $1k/mo fairly luxuriously. Even in several decent cities you can find a small studio apt. for like $500-600/mo and basically have $500/mo to spend on utilities (~$100/mo) and food ($400/mo should be more than enough per person).

It's not to help rich NEETs stay living rich and NEET, it's to make it possible for poor people to create value for the economy, and it has been proven to work. I make six figures a year but I have wanted to start a business for a long time. $1k/mo would allow me the ability to save enough within 1 year to leave my job and start that business without worrying about the ramifications of destroying my family in the process. So it works even for middle income people. And rich people of course get an extra $12k jacket or whatever every year, or can donate it all for a tax write off.

comparing Trump and this joke is no argument. Trump benefited under the MAGA effect, and he is still nothing but your average neocon. This chink is literally AOC-tier, and the only ones who think he has unironically a chance for president are lying to themselves and know it.

Really doubt his promise of UBI will come to fruition. It is a policy irrespective of a puppet the president is. Trump couldn't build a stupid wall for magapedes.
