the government has no money, it only takes from productive individuals via taxation
UBI would need huge amounts of taxation of productive people to ever work
that or money printing on a scale which makes 2008-present look like nothing
either way, Bitcoin goes up in response

That's the point. You don't vote for the guy trying to fix because there's nothing to fix and there aren't any guys that can actually fix it. Nope Zion Don ain't the one. You elect the guy that will run this fucker right into the ground before anyone can notice it.

It would ultimately be the downfall of the USA and the world economy. I contribute quite a bit in taxes both state and local, but I would effectively "retire" once 1k/m came into play. I don't need to work, I can live off my savings for the next 30 years. I suspect a lot of my wealthy friends will get fed up with paying into UBI and do the same. I say go for it.

Milton friedman + 1000 economists petitioned congress to adopt ubi.
It would grow the american economy by multiple trillions on account of huge increase in consumer spending, hundreds of thousands of small businesses opening or expanding, thousands of people taking entrepreneurial risks they otherwise couldnt have taken. Subststantial decrease in crime. It would massively lower bureaucratic waste as a bonus as the majority of those of the 100 or so welfare policies opt in to ubi, cancelling their welfare payments.

T. High school economists who don't understand how inflation works.
There will probably be a slight increase in the cost of living, but this will be completely offset by even 1 monthly payment of the ubi.

Somehow alaska, the only state offering an unconditional dividend of 1-2k yearly to inhabitants, has the lowest rate of inflation in the us. A consistent almost 4 decade trend beginning the year the dividend started in fact. Really makes you think...

If there was UBI in the US my dad would still be alive, but oh well. I'd spend mine on my portfolio and maybe some memecoin.
