Long story short, for the past 2 years ive been eating 1 meal a day and waging deeper into debt. two days ago I found out my boomers have been siphoning money that I was ENTITLED to so they can... not fucking joking... buy their third and largest house in the past 5 years WHILE TAKING LOSES ON ALL PREVIOUS HOUSES. I called her a cunt, told her she would never know her grandchild's love, quit my job, walked out of my apt lease and drove 5 states north to ensure it would be statistically impossible to even ACCIDENTALLY meet her grandchild. After half a decade of clinical depression and suffering I'm back in school because my boomer father had the same attitude.

I want to program now, but I've developed a complex around not having a degree and it's driving my insane even though I no longer care for the idea of having a degree after all the struggle. No debt, fortunately, but 3 years behind in graduating at the age of 23, probably won't get a degree until I'm 24/25, currently an electrical engineering student.

I just want to create children's/young adult entertainment now, but I have no idea how I'd monetize it, so I'm left trudging through a degree long after I lost passion for it and well into years of having suicidal thoughts frequently. The only time I ever sought help was when I first started having them when I first started college, and they just kicked me out for being high risk and everything cascaded into failure from there.

Eventually I'll finish something. Eventually I'll focus. I'm getting a screening for ADHD because said boomer father has it and never got my screened as a kid because of course he didn't.

This is the story of the United States, unless you can buy a lot of land and quickly develop it you are screwed. The ideal situation for this board would be to engage in what amounts to massive racketeering and discrimination which the Federal Government has outlawed. So you will never be able to own anything and the system is set up that way.

One legal means that we could all benefit from the appreciation of property prices would be to pool our money in some sort of land corporation and all pledge a certain amount of money for shares to continuously buy new properties that we could all occupy for "rent" payments back to the collective that would be used to pay for more property. It could function similarly to a timeshare arrangement but it might be difficult to get enough money for the endeavor unless everyone were to contribute adequately. If we were to structure it properly it would lead to those with the highest stake in the game towards a house getting one sooner while the punters would be placed on the bottom of the list.

Well that's pretty much our only option legally. The government at every single level controls land and housing in such a way that structuring any sort of cooperative/communal/joint ownership in a way that doesn't involve some sort of chicanery almost impossible. We don't have access to enough money to get land or housing without a way to divy it up so that eventually all participants will stop paying rents.
