If you worry about price fluctuations over the course of a month, for anything, you're not going to make it.

Just keep stacking.Whether you bought last month or in 2 months silver is a long term hedge. Give it a few years unless you thought you would get rich quick and flip it fast then that was a grave mistake on your part.

Likely it will increase once asset inflation trickles down into the real economy.

Picture unrelated shows price of Silver vs Dow Jones. Here one can see how titanic the spike in the 70s really was.

Some rich fags getting into stacking (They were like the richest people in the world just a decade earlier). They got killed by leverage because besides physical silver they loaned money to go long futures.

>By 1979, with every dollar increase in the price of silver, the Hunts were making $100 million on paper. But unlike most investors, when their profitable futures contracts expired, they took delivery. As in 1973, they arranged to have the metal flown from the US to Switzerland. Intentional or not, this helped create a shortage of the metal for industrial supply.
>Naturally, the industrialists were unhappy. From a spot price of around $6 per ounce in early 1979, the price of silver shot up to $50.42 in January of 1980. In the same week, silver futures contracts were trading at $46.80. Film companies like Kodak saw costs go through the roof, while traditional bullion dealers, caught in a squeeze, cried foul to the commodity exchanges, and the New York jewelry house Tiffany & Co. took out a full page ad in the New York Times slamming the “unconscionable” Hunt brothers. They were right to single out the Hunts; in mid-January, they controlled 69% of all the silver futures contracts on the Commodity Exchange (COMEX) in New York.

>“The main factor that has caused corners to fail [throughout history] is that the manipulator has underestimated how much will be delivered to him if he succeeds [at] raising the price to artificial levels,” says Pirrong. “Eventually, the Hunts ran out of money to pay for all the silver that was thrown at them.”

>This proved to be an especially big problem, because it wasn’t just the Hunt fortune that was on the line. Of the $6.6 billion worth of silver the Hunts held at the top of the market, the brothers had “only” spent a little over $1 billion of their own money. The rest was borrowed from over 20 banks and brokerage houses.
>At the same time, COMEX decided to crack down. On January 7, 1980, the exchange’s board of governors announced that it would cap the size of silver futures exposure to 3 million ounces. Those in excess of the cap were given until the following month to bring themselves into compliance. But that was too long for the Chicago Board of Trade exchange, which suspended the issue of any new silver futures on January 21.
>Predictably, silver prices began to slide.

Listen carefully to what this head of a mining company says at 3:24 and let it sink in. His all in sustaining cost is about $5 / oz and this is not one of the largest mining companies. That doesn't say anything about where silver is headed currently, but you won't see producers rushing to support prices until much lower.

https://www.kitco.com/news/video/show/BMO-Conference-2019/2303/2019-03-02/What-Happens-When-Gold-Silver-Ratio-Hits-85-Says-CEO

For a little extra information, the all in costs for gold at Barrick in 2016 were $798 / ounce. Just some helpful fundamentals to keep in mind.

Dude is the Hecla CEO. Not sure what e is abbeling about but Hecla's all-in sustaining cost per ounce of silver (a measure of production and investment costs) is $11.44. Although that's lower than the $15 per ounce or so that silver has been trading at recently, it doesn't leave a whole lot of room for error in a commodity prone to dramatic price swings.
And while their all-in sustaining costs are expected to drop slightly in 2019, with production projected to increase a little, Hecla remains a relatively high-cost miner.

Thanks, I did a little searching around and it seems roughly $10.50 is around the industry average now and $11.40 is what was reported in their second quarter results. $5 is way off. Maybe that was the best estimate of their best mine. I was watching that video to see what he was saying about the gold-silver ratio, but that stood out to me most. Let me know if you have a better source for the industry average.
