Delusional. The elite don't understand POS yet. It fits into how they see the world. We headed to mars once it enters social awareness.

How? Seems like easy staking rewards for normies is a killer feature.

I'm still holding onto about 90 Eth but when I hear rumors that the hard fork is even close to being scheduled, I'm bailing.

There can be a few scenarios that I see playing out from this and none are positive.
1. Difficulty bomb approaches, and PoS is rushed out, breaking consensus and all hell breaks loose.
2. PoS transition is implemented mostly successfully, but breaks Dapps across the board. Big dump occurs.
3. Difficulty bomb approaches, Eth is hard forked again to delay it. Least bad option, but still results in a dump due to idiots expecting their Eth to start paying them back for the sake of just holding them getting disillusioned. Stupid stupid stupid.

Eth's blockchain is too big and important now to fuck with in any substantive way and its governance is too inept to make a successful PoW-PoS transition.

Probably smart, but there's always a chance it all goes great from the start.

I think this is more likely.

It's not exactly a hard thing to upgrade. The POS chain can be tested extensively by 1000s before the transition.

Software is pretty easy these days.
