>the space is perfectly designed to keep out women and people of color.
He (or she) makes some great points.

Crypto has been set up to be a giant literacy test. Those were found to be racist and unconstitutional by the supreme court.

Crypto even has a version of Voter ID, ALSO widely held to be racist and undemocratic. And I believe courts have ruled on it as well. When you require IDs, you suppress the black vote/participation by default.

KYC sucks but if someone can't figure out coinbase, google some basic definitions, and can't manage some basic fucking math maybe crypto isn't for them.
It has gotten significantly easier to buy and store crypto from 09 onward.

Can't you read? It has been ruled racist and unconstitutional by the SUPREME COURT.

It would be tough to argue that coinbase is violating any Civil Rights Act provisions based on the arguments of that article alone.
Voter suppression by literacy test/ID requirements, by a State government is pretty cut and dry. Voting is a right. Purchasing crypto is not a right.

The issues (voter ID etc) were brought to the courts on the basis of it being racist. That's also the basis of our condemnation writ large.

The point is that crypto is currently using multiple racist systems, and it's affecting black and other marginalized folks exactly the way the racist voter suppression techniques did. Shocker.

Voter ID requirements are plainly unconstitutional because they are perpetrated by state institutions that have an obligation to uphold the constitution of the U.S. and to allow all U.S. citizens to vote.

ID requirements in the private sphere are literally everywhere.
You have to present an ID to check into hotels, to make withdrawals from bank accounts, and so on.
Because people of all races, colors, creeds, and religions are subjected to the same policies, there is parity and not clear-cut racism.
Jim Crow was backed up by state law. That's why it was problematic.

OP and the author of that shit article are typical racists for insisting that “POC” are too stupid to research how to participate in a what is a voluntary space.

There’s literally nothing stoping anybody with internet access from getting involved in crypto. To insist otherwise is simply false. To insist that race is a hurdle to adoption is, again, racist and a pathetic lie.

Typical racist “progressive” liberals.
