Hello /biz/,

I am currently 17. I have a few grand sitting on a bank account which I would like to invest. Preferably in stock.

Here is the problem though:

My mother thinks all investing is a hoax and therefore does not allow me to do so. Any service/platform I have found requires the permission and tons of paperwork from both of my legal guardians, so my mother being an idiot is currently stopping me.

Is there any service/platform that does not check for age or is located in a country where you become of age at 17 or has otherways loose regulations on the matter?

Appreciate any help.

He can take the losses though. He’s only 17 so it wouldn’t matter much.

Exactly.
I am looking for something with high dividend payoff mostly. I work in politics and run a business where I get the money but legal mumbo jumbo then does not allow me to invest it. Pisses me off

yup, you'll get rekt. better buy blow and hookers at your 18. birthday, you'll have more from it that way.

That’s a fair point.

Just continue saving until you’re 18. You probably have less than a year left anyways.

Lots of boomers are scared of investing because they have low time preference and self control, they probably still get flashbacks to 2008 when they went full retard to get rich quick.

If you keep your expenses low, and invest what you dont need in high quality stocks, you can make a boatload of money long term.
