>buy $5000 of bitcoin
>we will sell to you at the upper market price
>that'll be a 4% exchange fee of $200
>oh, and a 5% international charge of $250
>you are already 10% down

Why do you bother?

what is this for some BTC ATM? people would only pay that if they thought using such a source benefited them in some way (which in most cases it doesn't). buying bitcoin on a regular exchange has lower fees than anything you can do in a bank or traditional market. coinbase pro maker fees are 0% and withdrawals are free. if you're not a moron and can read, and are committed to reading for 15 minutes before buying, you can unironically buy BTC with no fees at all and have it in the wallet of your choice completely for free. the coinbase site itself I think takes 2 or 3 percent, so all of the money they make comes exclusively from people unwilling or unable to read for 15 minutes prior to making their transaction
