This sold approx 100 mil on pc, 15 mil on xbone and 25 mil on ps4. It sold for $30 but has had sales, so average price probably about $20

This means it has made about $3 billion. Don't know about anyone else but imo it was painfully obvious it was going to blow up a few years back just after playing it once. The boomers didn't realise cause obviously they don't play videogames.

How do you invest in specific videogames?

Why would pubgcorp give a shit? It sold ridiculously well regardless and they only care about money. I remember when people were saying it would flop on xbone (it was truly awful at launch) and it outsold literally everything in a few months

a game can be broken mess and still make it
and it made it because of the rules of the game

take look at the new Metro, technically is the best game out there, but the game a game is no good

these games dont appeal to me at all. have tried them. you run around and loot for 7 minutes and then die, then you load and find another match for 3 minutes, repeat.

playerunknowns battleground was a disgrace, they made a billion and was still in "early access". they ported from PC to consoles while still in "early access". they added microtransactions for in-game purchases before fixing their buggy network code. they wanted to sue Fortnite for "stealing their idea" (even though they use Unreal Engine, which is owned by the same company that made Fortnite).

look at playerunknown's battleground's console port performance:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdGBwrJ6rtI
this is from a company with millions of USD and the port is very poor.

agreed the entire premise of the game seems completely retarded to me (cs 1.6 boomer here)

I published a game on steam once. I made decent money until steam took down my game, refunded everyone, and banned me for "antisemitic" and "racist" undertones

No shit, but RNG games are the future. Since all normalfags play games nowadays, you can see from typical games they like in sports all have insane variability to get their normie brains excited full of dopamine and are less based on skill and have mechanics that are hard to fully control. Get with the times grandpa, you got to play the market.
I personally will acquire currency by wagecucking and using these depressed teen market opportunities that will open up because of the low expectations of today, and since only Chads are starting to be the ones to only get laid, I will try to fuck the 18-25 women Chad's don't have time to fuck. That's my plan anyway

Sad. Card games, BR, MOBA, etc. so many things in the game to blame other than yourself. It's why no one plays fighting games, you get exposed to how shit you are very quickly.

had a huge correction because of lower than expect BF sales and anthem was not that great but apex legends requires origin (eas platform like steam) to run and if people are downloading it to play apex then they are probably going to use it to try other games also

could be a good time to buy

It depends, making a video game alone is pretty hard. If it's your first game it will take at least one year and you need to program it and do the art.
If you have a good idea is best to pitch it to someone and try to get a job as a level designer or something like that but I don't know if the job market is good for there's a lot of competition in games. I would try to get a job in the video games industry first or do a indie game if I can do the art and programming (or find 2-3 people to help me)

I don't understand how you thought it was obvious that game was going to blow up. It floundered for a long time. It's also a pretty shitty game. I was honestly kind of flabbergasted that it ended up taking off like it did. To me it's a testament to how boring and without value gaming has become. People are so desperate to play a new game that isn't LoL, DotA, Fortnite, Overwatch, CSGO, etc that they were willing to play a game as shitty as PUBG. Look at Apex Legends - all they've done is polish the genre up a little bit and make a playable game, and now PUBG is a dead game walking. Gaming has been pretty aids for the last few years.

PUBG was like that
1 guy
he used unreal engine, that is why the game is shit, that engine is shit
and he assembled rag tag bad of programmers

then when he had minimum viable product he ICOed

I'm not sure how hard it would be to make.
It would be a strategy game but there is no need for too fancy graphics or something.
