I don't think it's an out and out scam, but there are lot of questionable things about the project. They basically faked mainnet, a lot of their "partnerships" were silently removed from the website and never heard from, the "50 child chains" quickly turned to 6 child chains of which 3 then quit completely, they asked the community to basically help write their whitepaper cause the first one sucked, there are endless delays including recently a suprise "audit" of their mainnet which no one knows when it will even happen. All in all its dodgy, probably a lot of incompetence combined with the usual chink bullshit. And of course their fraud giveaway competition

The giveaway was very stupid, but it was only something like 20$. 10s of community members won the same amount and this was confirmed by these people. The only partnership that got "removed", was the alibaba cloud partnership, and this isn't even true. They were asked to remove the tweet, and did so, however the medium article is still up and alibaba cloud is still a partner. The 50 child chains were just the number of child chains they were gonna incubate, not a amount that they were currently developing. there are 10 child chains coming this year. However there might be private child chains included in these. 4 public child chains are currently known about. I dont think any of them have "quit", although it has been rather silent.

The giveaway was stupid but it wasn't outright a scam. They would pick like 40 winners and there were not a lot of people actually participating, so almost everyone who participated actually won a litle bit of WTC. Employees were allowed to enter and thus an Intern won a small amount (like 20 usd). He wanted to tweet it with his own account but forgot he was logged into the walton twitter and TADA. History happened. Still a nice meme though

I doubt they'll exit scam, I've done my due diligence. They're incompetent, but they might be able to pull of something vaguely resembling a crypto ecosystem in maybe 10 years.
