Is it a good idea to store your private keys on a vm on some cloud provider?

Is it that bad?

the only viable way is to put it in an text file in an encrypted rar stored across as many possible storage devices as you have and then also write it down on a piece of paper and put it somewhere that you will never forget or lose. putting your private key on the internet you are exposing yourself too dangerously

You're not supposed to keep your private key online or even on the computer you use every day.
Put that shit on multiple USB keys.

Doing that now. Want to ensure that I won't lose my keys in a freak accident involving the building I live in burning down.

USB, paper & pen or some encrypted file. No other options.

What would be the difference between an encrypted drive and storing the content of the encrypted drive (still encrypted) on a vm on a cloud provider like Azure?
