Found this on old NAS. Privkey is obfuscated. I've given up. Could someone do something like this?

i guess it can be done with "perfect" untwirling in photoshop, maybe you have to take out the pink stripes first? any case, lots of visible characters in the written privkey. i refuse to think this is impossible.

the main complication with unswiraling is identifying the one pixel that is the center pixel that was used as a point to swirl in the first place. and then also using the same swirl tool to unswirl once we know which pixel is the right one. otherwise, we're just going to get blurry messes that are partially complete. the pink shit is actually not that hard to get rid of.

Wrong approach brainlets.

You don't need to find a single perfect unswirl, we know the original had right angles. We can break down the swirled QR code into blocks and slowly untwirl them until we get right angles, convert the portions into private key strings and cross examine with the exposed pkey on the bottom.

This is why we need smart contracts so we can fairly pay anons if we actually solve this thing.

>100 anons want to combine their research and all be rewarded for solving a problem
>all anons contribute but 1 solves the problem

I dunno if I could write up my hacky workflow would be helpful at all, but rather key was seeing where the first distorted pixels were at the edge of the twirl effect. Luckily these overlapped nicely with the three corner markers.

This allowed me to figure out that the twirl effect was slightly off center and larger than the code itself, and position the counter-twirl relatively accurately, give or take a few pixels.

I member spending a few hrs restoring a qr code posted here that was like half covered by a napkin or smt.
I stopped trying, when a guy showed his solution where he just brute forced all the possible combinations.
I was trying to be smart and actually build a qr decoder that would let me read only the visible part, and then continue from there. Took too long to actual;ly learn the format.
