>Hi Ma'am, I saw the car in your driveway had a 'For Sale' sign for $2,000. I'd like to buy it for that price

>GREAT! How will we do the payment?

>Here, I'll send you my money through crypto

>GREAT! Ok I'll give you my wallet address. Take this down with a pen and notepad. Ok this is case sensitive, ready? Lowercase X, 7, uppercase R, lowercase Y, 3, 8, uppercase A, lowercase E... You getting it? We're about 1% finished with this code!

Man, I'm going to make a KILLING on these crypto investments!

I'm trying to prevent people from making stupid decisions with their money. This whole board is full of borderline suicidal people who lost all of their money on crypto

>that's not how it works and you know it
Yes it is
>b-but what about QR code?
But what about the ridiculous volatility of crypto prices? Here take this 1 BTC priced $20,000 and don't get mad at me if it's only $4,000 next month

For real, I'm looking out for people who are converting REAL MONEY to crypto as a get-rich-quick scheme instead of thinking about how stupid the whole idea is in action

Usd will lose you at minimum 2% a year. I bought my dog for $800 in 2008. Adjusted inflation is $939 today.

So do you think btcs value will be higher than 8% in 4 years? If so, it is smart to accept crypto atm...

But anyways, btc is a store of value more than currency so who cares. Use some fast shitcoin if you want to spend it.

But crypto has always been a get-rich-quick scheme. Only nerds are in it "for the technology".

You may be right. Still 2% loss per year is nothing compared to the drops in crypto.
>So do you think btcs value will be higher than 8% in 4 years?
I really do not. People are not going to deal with money by jumping through all the crypto hoops and conversions. The banking system is flawed but I GUARANTEE you that governments will not let a digital currency threaten their nationally-backed dollars. I'm a realist, but you can call me a pessimist if you want

Your point was that it's "very hard" to transfer coins to an adress so why ignore scanning the QR code or just sending the adress from smartphone to smartphone? You act like people live in the stone ages and they have to write things down on a notepad. Obvious boomer right here.

Also Bitcoin didn't go from 20k to 4k in a month. It went to 20k very briefly, only a few people were able to buy/sell at that price and it took almost a year for Bitcoin to reach 4k.

Yes it's volatile but it goes both ways, easy money to be made, just don't buy at the peak like a retard.

It is as long as you don't accept payments near the top.. Which is what many companies halted toward the end of the bubble.

Is this the new "here's a check, please don't cash it until next week"?

I'm not a boomer, and I agree young ppl are way more tech savvy when it comes to this stuff. Who knows, maybe in 10 years or less crypto will be the new currency. (I doubt that, but it's certainly a possibility) For risky investors, crypto might be the way to go. But I'm hoping whoever reads this will think carefully before investing (especially impressionable teens)

I have $3,000 in crypto holdings just in case I'm wrong. If I lose it all, I won't break a sweat. If it succeeds, then great. My message: I'd bet 20:1 that crypto is a dead currency, so don't put in more than you could lose

t. person whose friends are all broke bc they thought crypto was the future and invested their life savings like retards
