Enterprise Ethereum based blockchains: how do they deal with private keys?

Say, every employee is supposed to be identifiable by a private key.
o) It's unfeasable to make them remember the private key
o) it's conflicting with the idea of a private network to store the private key somewhere in reach of the IT department

How to deal with that?

Hardware "wallet" (signature device) issued to each employee, dummy.

Good idea. One that is most resistant to the political environment of an IT infrastructure.

Perhaps a Trusted Execution Environment/SGX would be a good idea as well.
