Even I can tell that the way they is speak different from other people. They use posh words like "sitting room" instead of "living room". Here in Denmark you can usually tell when people are uneducated, but the devide between classes isn't as big as in England.

India has something called a class system but maybe its different than what you might think. In India you stay in your class and you dont dare marry other classes. The lowest class, called "the untouchables" are often poor and dirty and there is no clear way to break the cycle because your parents determine your class. The BBC will "try" to be inclusive with other British people but it usually just involves throwing a scouser in every now and then, then giving more perps to another nergroid Londoner.

Class exists in America but it isn't rigidly defined and not totally related to wealth. It's really just a matter of how you carry yourself, what vocabulary you use, etc. That being said there are lots of places in the USA where people from different classes intermingle. This can be a main bar district in town, sports arena, shopping mall etc. Aside from residential neighborhoods there isn't a huge distinction in class.

For a kind of crude/interesting example of high class stuff in US, look at Donald Trump. He had the money to be extremely high class and extremely elite, but he was never seen that way. He was moreso seen like a celebrity who happened to get rich and wasn't really considered high class by other old money people.

Kind of a similar thing with the tech boom in Silicon Valley, you have a lot of millionaires walking around in $20 jeans and hoodies.

Our traditional WASP culture which had an air of being elite and aristocratic has all but died, with Jews supplanting them as the ruling class. The high class in America now are people who went to university or post grad and have the same views on politics, that's literally it

One can be lower-middle class but belong to the high culture, while those who became rich very recently could still belong to lower caste in taste and manners if not in wealth. It depends on your city. In my town there really only 2 large bar districts. One is a little grittier, more hipster etc. The other is highly polished but has overpriced drinks and a lot of tourists from bordering rural states.

While the really low class won't be in the latter, you will often find plenty of high class individuals, especially frat guys and sorority girls, at the former.
