ok, i'll drop some breadcrumbs about where this thing is going:
i've been buying this gradually all day because of the price suppression...no need to spike the chart, and difficult to do anything when it is quiet and we're in a short-term downtrend. i'm extremely bullish up to about 45 sats, then i expect a retrace and some sideways trading. by then, if btc doesn't do something momentous, we'll head back up to flirt with 50 UNLESS there is another big event that soaks up all the money.
protip: it is easiest to influence during periods of consolidation or around support/resistance...trading contrary to expectations can often lead to a leg up/down, so watch these areas when trading a hot coin. also, learn to ladder into and out of trades if you're not already doing this. one more thing, it is easier to enter/exit on a granular level if you trade the usdt pair and not the btc pair. good luck, dolphinbro

i'm ignorant of how things are currently structured in the world of torrents. but it seems there are a few small altrusitic and industrious groups of pirates who keep it all afloat. its always the tradeoffs. your can't torrent what isnt available. you wont seed without incentives. i always delete torrent after i'm done. as i mentioned in the previous post. a vanishingly small percentage of participants keeps the activity alive. financial incentives will contribute to more media being available for longer. also sometimes its not between torrents vs walmart but rare vs popular. that which is otherwise not available, accessible, or even exists any longer.

you'll have to be more specific. people? how many people. as storage and cost are directly proportional and storage is not infinite, tradeoffs must be made between the old and new. the rate of production of new media is exponential. i'm guessing your not much older than twenty of so. were you not you would notice all that older media that is missing. in fact i'd say that nobody cares about porn any older than a couple of years due to quality improvements. do you bother watching low res porn?

>> No.12753015

>>12752904
also you should zoom out. if you think america or the west is all that matters, then why are you in crypto at all. just as we have unequal access to the financial system, so do we have the funds to actually consume as much media as we please. this does not apply to the remaining 6 billion of the planet living on less than a $1 a day.

>> No.12753032

>> No.12753097

>>12753032
the rate that the rate of new media is being produced has been accelerating for some time which leads to tradeoffs being made. in addition to my previous comment about availability and variety of content. you cant torrent what is not available. seeding is the number one problem in the torrent space and always has been and will be until incentives change. i would argue that bittorrent is exactly the decentralized solution to cencorship of older media, as was intended. if you think that all that will to continue to be missing from the internet is low res porn, then you arent at all paying attention.

wow dude and you never thought that if hollywood does that then people will continue what they have been doing for years of distributing the movie for free?

>> No.12753223

>>12753149
torrenting is NOT free; your just the one not paying. if all participants were equally involved in the procuring and distributing of old and new media, you might have a point. but that is not the case. small committed groups keep old files alive and that costs money. furthermore, currently demand is a function of novelty. fewer and fewer people store or seed older media. the reward for seeding goes to that participant with best speed, bandwidth, and uptime. so IF hollyweird decides, or is rather forced, to seed files for residuals then YOU won't be able to complete with them. And casual participants wont be able to afford to store or seed the ever growing cache of media already produced nevermind newly generated.

so the cost of storage and distribution are low. but when incentives create competition, who wins in a war of economies of scle? random anon or hollywood? also, it may be cheap enough but where is the incentive to seed anything other the newest most popular files? you think someone tasked with seeding the majority of files on the network will pay to save yet another obscure file just in case someone wants in 5 years? a small group handling 90% of the workload is no match for a truly global distributed network of participants.

Just have to keep it going and hope they switch on their PC's some time.
Another problem is by default torrent clients are set to have 10 active torrents.
You can increase that but that just cause your download and uploads to be heavily divided taking centuries.
Lots of people have really low upload relative to download so having your upload divided to ridiculously slow trickles.
Your torrent could take a year for all you know stuck at 93% now.
Myself for example like to seed but I've got slow 2mb speed and the upload is a ridiculous 20kb/s. Put that across 10 torrents and you've got 2kb/s which isn't helping anyone really.
