Jobs, Zuckerberg, Nazarov

They all have their signature outfits but there is a kind of logic to the former two. First off, both are kind of neutral and inoffensive but also reflective of their companies' branding. Jobs' turtleneck is sophisticated but arty, the kind of thing an art gallery owner or creative, slightly pretentious, individual would wear. Zuckerberg's blue jeans and grey t-shirt is very casual (he doesn't want Facebook to be this stiff, lame, old-fashioned corporation) but very neutral (that's after all the (stated) purpose of Facebook: a neutral platform for connecting with friends).

But what about Sergey's signature outfit? There's no obvious logic to it. You certainly can't call it neutral: that jarring pattern with the bright blue trainers - what is he trying to say? Is this some sort of mind game we can't comprehend? It's like he's trying to make a bold statement but it's totally incomprehensible what that statement is. Thinking about it again, the check/plaid pattern and colouring subtly conjurs up images of the chainlink cube itself.

The guy is a genius.
