Hello anons

Quick question. I earn at the moment 5,5k and got 10minutes to travel from home to the office, now I get a new job offer ( 6,5k + car ) but I need to travel every day 1h more - what would you do?

Let's see. You are trading 2 hours (go and back) for 1k more. Time is a scarce resource and once spent, you are never getting it back. You could use those 2 hours to rest and pursue hobbies. You are giving 2 for the price of 1, not that worth it to me

Well at 5.5k mo that’s 1375 a week / 40hrs is 34.37/hr. Adding an extra hour to your day means 20 hrs a month and at 34.37/hr that’s 680 + 5500 would be almost 6200. So no I don’t think $300 is worth your time getting a new job

company car is a luxury, hardly a benefit in my mind and a benefit that can be taken away at any time to my understanding. I’d ask for a raise and show them your job offer, if the job you were offered has higher upward mobility that’s something to consider too.

just move near your work. I'd say it's worth even without. Consider that I work 40 hours for 1.5k usd pm if you get that extra just from that amount of travelling time it's good

A good point for me is also im working "free" , I‘m going to the homes of our customers and just talk with them. ( working for a bank )
