I'm starting that Cornell blockchain for business course this month that I talked about on here a few wees back. I figure if Link does make me, then it'll take a few years and I want to earn as much money as possible myself during that time also just in case Link doesn't work out.

I'm a contractor (business analyst) and want to be ahead of the curve in that respect so that I can charge more for my time, preferably doubling it in 3 years. That would be nice.

about the same as when I started. The dropshipping site ended up covering most of my expenses as I don't really spend much money - it's mostly all consumerist bullshit anyway isn't it? Still, managed to have a few short breaks away and I never scrimp on stuff like food and gym membership.
Will you be doing it again?
Definitely. All in all was a very comfy time but after too long I started to feel a bit guilty and that I was wasting my potential. I was spending more and more time high and was indulging my schizophrenic tendencies more and more (I'm sure anons on here can relate).

This is my ONLY concern with taking time off from work to NEET. I can certainly understand why you felt that way. Were there nights where you would just stay up into the night and shit since you didn't have to wagecuck in the morning?

>Were there nights where you would just stay up into the night and shit since you didn't have to wagecuck in the morning?
Yeah. Comfy AF. I used to stay up late smoking weed and watching TV and playing old vidya (I never normally play vidya but had so much free time). I remember there is this channel that shows old episodes of X Files late at night and I had this comfy routine of rolling a joint and going outside (sometimes in the snow) and smoking it. I'd come back in high as fuck and make a green tea and get comfy on the sofa to get freaked out by X Files. At the time it was tinged with that guilt but looking back and comparing it to the stressful early to bed for early morning wagecucking stress it was bliss. I love it.

Thing is, I wouldn't appreciate that life if it was always like that. It's only because I know what wagecucking and hard work and sacrifice are like that I could appreciate what a privilege it was to live like that. After a while, though, that appreciation starts to wear off and it just becomes normal. When that happens, you better snap out of it and get back to the grind. You don't want to be a permaneet.

I would recommend taking time off work to become a NEET but only if you have the willpower to go back. I would recommend setting a date or something so that you don't slip.

>> No.12634430

>>12634398
Yep. there is some truth in your post. I would certainly have to set myself a date because I feel that the permaneet life style is a very possible thing to happen to me. That X files shit sounds comfy af. What kind of job do you have now? What date do you plan to start neeting it up again at?

>> No.12634446

to be fair i already had a pretty solid theoretical background as well as some experience with database management. there are a lot of good full stack courses online for no cost, freecodecamp worked best for me personally. first i got comfy with javascript (node, express, and react/react native). at this point i started building increasingly complex web and mobile apps to build a portfolio and github presence. kept the momentum rolling by picking up python and ruby, both of which have a ton of educational resources online.

just give it a try and if you like it keep going. the beginning is the worst because you likely won't have the ability to build anything that feels worthwhile or the perspective to see how all the smaller things you are learning connect back together but if you stick with it your horizon can expand surprisingly quickly.

>> No.12634521

>>12634430
>What kind of job do you have now?
Some sort of B2B technology writing job. Pretty easy, pays ok.
>What date do you plan to start neeting it up again at?
No fixed date. I'm thinking of using my salary to get a mortgage to buy a house to rent out but it doesn't seem like the best time for that. On the other hand, I don't want to be at this job for another 5+ years in this job waiting for a crash that never comes.

I also have a nice stack of LINK so if it's as big as we think it is all bets are off.

Basically, I will keep wagecucking for as long as I can bear it and in the meantime try to set up alternative sources of income to make it easier to quit my job. Fuck I really hope LINK moons though that would be WILD

I assumed we all hedl link ITT given OP's image and mention of the singularity.

I'm not going to shill LINK to you because it's been done to death a million times on here. Just read the serious threads on LINK (if they still exist). For me, it just clicked and made sense and I think a lot of anons on here have shared this same eureka moment with LINK. I bought ETH at $16 just by luck so made good gains on that but didn't really understand it and spent most of 2017 jumping from shitcoin to shitcoin trying to catch the next pump. By then I understood crypto more and once I stopped ignoring LINK threads (thankfully after the SIBOS crash) and actually understood what the project is I was sold. Went in with about 50% of my stack in at around $0.16 and haven't sold a single linkie since, only bought more.

It's so obvious to me that I just take it for granted that everyone on here already holds link but I guess not

smart contracts are self executing agreements stored on a blockchain
smart contracts can be used to automate a ton of shit ranging from insurance to bond payments to all sorts of stuff I can't even think of right now
smart contracts need data from outside the blockchain to be useful - e.g. a flight insurance contract needs flight times information to know if it needs to pay out or not
LINK is a decentralized network for providing this sort of information to blockchains (and there are a ton of usecases, very high value ones, a huge range of usecases)
There are other ways of getting data on to blockchains but decentralized is best. As mentioned, smart contracts are self executing, so if the data feed is wrong the wrong person will get paid. A decentralized approach reduces the risk of/eliminates this problem
There are a ton of credible links between LINK and major players in several industries. Even if, e.g. the Swift connection, doesn't turn out to be what people think, there are tons more such connections

There's so much more I could say, like how the Town Crier (recently acquired by chainlink) could mitigate some of the scaling issues blockchains face by doing computations off-chain

smart contracts are essentially simple if/then conditional agreements. smart contracts require an input of data in order to meet said conditions. smart contracts are executed on a blockchain. blockchains are only privy to information within said blockchain. chainlink makes it possible to create meaningful smart contracts by securely opening them to outside data (ie from other blockchains, or more meaningfully, the real world)

Listen I genuinely care about about Anons financial well being. Its hard as shit to get ahead in life now, not just working 9-5 for the rest of your life. The sooner you start saving the sooner you can get ahead in life. Chainlink is a meme started by 4chan (an infamous trolling board) to lead people to financial ruin. This is NOT A JOKE. Don't let your saved wealth be thrown away over night. Vitalik Buterin the creator of ethereum said himself the days of making x100 or x1000 are over, that right the guy who created the second most popular crypto said himself those days are over. Now 4chan is trying to get people to lose even more money after the December/January bloodbath. Smart money already exited the crypto world. Crypto is basically a highly specialized database, companies don't need this. They will just create their own private blockchains. There is no need for crypto chainlink isn't even needed to run the nodes. Think XRP when you think chainlink. The company ripple (smartcontracts) is doing well but the coin XRP(chainlink) isn't even needed for the companies technology. Considering what Vitalik said "The days of making x100 or x1000 returns are over." Chainlink needs a 399900% increase in price over the next couple of months to reach $1000 this is ludicrous. Don't fall for it, chainlink its a meme to fuck you over. Consider this for chainlink at current price to reach $1 you need an increase of 700% or a 233% increase every month until EOY. This is a 4chan meme to siphon money out of the hands of the already vulnerable.

smart contracts save companies lots of money because they are trustless, deterministic, and immutable, smart contracts need data from outside of blockchains, this data needs to also be trustless or the whole point of blockchain is nullified, filtering the data through a decentralized network of oracles (chainlink) that form consensus on inputs maintains end to end trustlessness, the token is used to pay node operators for fetching data and can also be staked as collateral to be paid as a penalty to smart contract owners/parties that are maligned as a result of receiving incorrect data
