That chart means nothing. Looking at chart and thinking that it implies degrees are profitable is like looking at the S&P going up and concluding all stocks are going up.

Separate that chart into sectors and you'll see what is actually up. Now, if you want to go to college for STEM, law, medicine then you definitely should go to college. But if you don't cut it for that and you want to get a degree outside of those fields all you are really doing is getting debt for no reason.

Look at the difference between "high school" and Bachelor's degree. It is fair to assume that most people with just high school education are doing pretty shitty jobs that all pay roughly that. But in Bachelors, it goes all the way from gender studies to petroleum engineering. Pick out the lower half of Bachelors earners and you'll see that those people make the same as people with just high school education.
