>struggle to earn any decent money on freelance platforms like Upwork and Freelancer
>decide to drop them and find clients myself
>get 10k euro projects I can finish in 1 month from reddit, linkedin, even from fucking /biz/
>travelling the world now
am I retarded? why did I stay stuck on these platforms for so long

advice for freelancers: don't do what I did, get your clients yourself and fuck your platforms

just curious
what kind of work are you doing?
are you actively searching reddit/biz for stuff or waiting for it to pop up?

Replying to faggots who post that they need a Node/React developer, and showing em my references. That's about it.

What also works is when an entrepeneur guy has an idea and you approach them telling em it's very clever and you can do it for X price.

Obviously lmao. Act like abusiness and u get paid like a business. Act like a freelancer slave and get paid like it.

Can I be a freelancer if I have no skills or qualifications?

Learn a skill? how hard is it resources are free. You can get starterd in a month

Bingo. Gotta tell them how great their idea is and they're willing to pay any price you throw at them.
Usually their idea sucks hard and will literally never work, so you gotta get past that morally wrong feeling to accept $5k from someone who's perusing their dream that will inevitably crash and burn.

What kind of references? A cs friend of mine always just told me, "Just do some projects, dude!" when I was trying to learn C#, but I struggled to do anything outside of the assignments from this course.

Do your market research first. What are people looking for? For example I've been getting tons of smart contracts jobs from shitcoin forums and websites in 2018. Go with the wave, learn whatever people ask for, create some demo projects in that area (for ex a react.js to-do list) then hit up people who're looking for that skill with these demo projects. The rest is negotiation and upfront free.

There's not much to get. If you're learning a new programming language, it's pretty easy to come up with use cases for new shit you're learning. Just build whatever comes to mind and even if it sucks, put it in your portfolio.

Eventually you'll land a gig, then put that in your portfolio. Rinse and repeat.

>be me, dating a chinese girl
>she talks about how she gets paid $5k per graphic design project, flown out to miami to meet clients

i couldn't believe her at first because anyone could have hired a pajeet to do the same work for $20 on Fiverr, her stuff was OK but she literally DREW IT ON HER PHONE
SHE DIDNT EVEN HAVE A WEBSITE
WHY COULDNT I MAKE IT AS A FREELANCER REEEEEEEEE

My first big gig I literally emailed a business and told them that their stuff was garbage. Told them I could fix it and gave them an estimate of the cost.

How are you finding projects on Linkedin? Just applying to job postings and negotiating to work on a contract basis, or another format like articles?
