Because it was a NEP-5 token so no exchange wanted to touch it. Now it's ERC20 so they'll be fine.

Something big is obviously brewing behind the scenes, I know this coin is a bit of a pain in the ass to hold but whenever it finally moves properly I think it's going to be something you will hugely regret not being in

Btw there have been big buy orders going through all week at around the same time of day. Someone buying 1-2 million NKN in one go each day

With the token swap and all the hints from the team I think this is the time to just keep patient and wait for something to materialise. Development wise they are killing it, too
