Users being able to choose whether they are subject to ads or not is dumb? Sure, they can just run an ad blocker. But choosing to view ads in return for some sort of compensation is also dumb? Instead of having a google spider clear up your ass? Prompting users to actually view ads all the way through so advertisers know that at least they were seen? I don’t think this idea is stupid at all. I would rather pay for ads that get watched if I were running a click campaign.

Yes, an ad blocker browser being an advertising platform is a fucking retarded idea. Advertisers will pay for clicks and views now because the audience is largely anyone on the internet (except for ad blockers obviously). Braves audience will be a small subset of everyone: just the people who want money for ads. Not likely to be consumers. There's no reason why an advertiser would waste money on that audience. The product is inferior. Google offers everyone. Brave offers only crypto faggots and pajeets.

Thanks. It gets lonely.

So per LARP protocols, I'll let you know my background/credentials. I work part-time for a "tech start up" in the industry, we do a variety of crypto related things (whitepapers, token creation, website design, marketing, etc.). We work on some really cool projects and hopefully will be releasing a major one here by EOY

Our company is associated with another, who is associated with another company..who is trying to get BAT to integrate with the Handshake Token/Handshake Network (HNS). If you look around for tweets from Big Dick B and HNS you'll notice some of our associated associates talking about potential integration. If BAT takes up the offer and moves, BAT will have a reason to go above 8 USD. We forecast a max at 15 USD per token if the integration happens, which I personally think it will.

On the other hand ( a sublte shill/plug here) HNS will be big, a better version of namecoin, that is not entirely useless.

Ok, this is going to be like explaining colors to a blind person, but I guess you losers are too inept to download Brave Developer and see how BAT ads work for yourselves before you post your bainlet FUD.

You can't just "toggle Ads: on" and proceed to watch a million ads all day for money, you fucking retards. Of course that's not how it works. Brave browser is an improved version of Chrome with built-in adblock. You can toggle how many ads you want to see an hour, and I believe the max right now is 5.

So I can describe it as: literally the same thing as Chrome, but faster and with a better AdBlock than anything you're currently using. Every ~15 minutes you'll get a pop-up: "Hey AMAZON/COINBASE/DICK'S SPORTING GOODS wants to show you an ad, would you like to see it? Y/N" You now have the simple option:
>yeah I'll take a look
>no I'm busy

If you take a look, Brave browser notes that you clicked an ad, and will use that info to determine how much BAT that was worth. That's all it is.

You can't be a pajeet and watch 1,000,000 ads a day for $500 a day. No shit you can't do that. You could theoretically start a Brave farm and have a bunch of devices running Brave and clicking the pop-up every 15 minutes, but that would not be worth the time or money spent on the device + electricity. I could go on and on but basically, you're fucking stupid.

I post in every BAT thread, I should just trip at this point

>> No.12473342

>>12473092
>You could theoretically start a Brave farm and have a bunch of devices running Brave and clicking the pop-up every 15 minutes, but that would not be worth the time or money spent on the device + electricity

True. But it would be pretty hard to have your farm fool their anti-fraud tech built into the browser. Brendan has talked about it on twitter and said it's surprisingly hard to fool. On mobile, they will be able to use the device's accelerometer to detect if the device is being used by a real human.

There's also significantly fewer vectors for fraud to even take place, compared to the existing adtech ecosystem. There are 10s of billions (with a b) of dollars worth of fraud going through the system right now every year, because it's so complex and opaque. That's a conservative number. Look up Dr. Augustine Fou, he does research on this, and the numbers are staggering. (He's also a fan of Brave btw, I asked him on twitter once)

And all of that's not even mentioning the KYC that you'd have to do if you want to take BAT out of your farm. If you try to funnel it all into a 0-subscriber YouTube channel, that'll raise a red flag on Brave's end and they can stop that cold.

BAT is unironically worthless and nobody is ever going to use it. This is unironically flat out wrong.

Read the report AdLedger put out. You know what the #1 problem advertising executives identified with online advertising? Google and Facebook's duopoly.

Oh, and you know who's needed to make the BAT ecosystem work? Yeah, advertising executives.

You can already test out the ads in the dev build. One of the first ads I got was for Slack. Yeah, Slack, that massive company who probably spends a ridiculous amount of money on advertising every year, already trying out Brave Ads.

And the system is completely balanced? It is absolutely not. If 600M+ have literally decided to opt out of advertising and given Google a big middle finger by installing an adblocker, that's not a sign of a perfectly balanced system.

Do your homework better.
