Most influential people in history never graduated from college.
Going to college doesn't make you smarter than everyone else. Seeing it for what it truly is what makes you smart.

I don't know, in engineering some classes were bullshit but other classes are definitely things you can't get from internet so easily or without guidance, but at the same time university teaches so little about engineering that thinking you will be set and done with it is laughably bad, im a Mech Engineer and basically it certificates that you aren't a retard because you will still need to learn a lot after graduating

In general, most good jobs require "a degree", without caring about the subject. In most subjects no one has intentions of working in it at college.

Good examples are investment Banking (maths related stem) and marketing (random arts subjects). You've clearly never had a proper career if you don't know this

Drops outs and English majors say this stuff. College is a joke these days, you have to be pretty stupid to fail. I do think the majority of the material is worthless and you won't need it once you get a job requiring a degree but that's just the way the system works. College is a good idea, but like most things the system has failed us. You’re probably be more financially free by starting an aggressive investment strategy as a teenager. If you spend those 4 years earning real world experience it’s much easier to compete w peers . This is obviously not true of you attend high level university and have the rigor to endure the institution

> implying you have to be top 25% of your class to go to college

I barely graduated high school with a 2.0. Spent two years at the local community college and knocked out some cheap general ed classes, spent the next three years finishing up my degree at a 4 year school. Went to post grad for a law degree and finished bottom 50% of my class. $150k in debt with a well-paying job in my field now.

College is a waste of money if: A) You’re going for a meme degree; or, B) You’re a pussy that’s going to drop out halfway through. Other than that, it’s not too bad. Not a fan of the “you must go to college” thing though. You probably don’t need to go if you’re looking to get into manual labor or a specialty school (electrician, plumbing etc...)

College was never about intelligence it was about grit. Yes, (((they))) want hard working employees who comply. Big surprise eh? You still need to be able to work hard with those smarts, so may as well go to college and learn to grind and manage time.
