the world is a little sadder place now.

it'd have been so awesome to listen to him 10 and 20 years from now. he never ceased to entertain. it's like certain things just didn't register in his mind and watching his streams gave an extremely unique view of the world. it must have been extremely painful to live that way.
not an accureate view, of course, but a view that was very much worth watching. don't know if it's suicide or not, but certainly has much to do with the fact that he didn't care much for being alive.

Well basically to answer your question op: terry davis made the most lightweight os ever. This means that he was the most intelligent programmer to ever live. Seriously, memes aside, we was right about saying that. Basically theres a branch of comp sci called computational complexity which seeks to specify the fastest way to perform a function, the simplest algorithm for a given problem, stuff like that. Terry intuitively leveraged the principles of minimal algorithmic complexity but he was just a programmer. Basically what im saying is terry davis is like someone who had a small shop and they built the fastest car ever but had no formal knowledge of physics etc. They just got a feel for what makes a car fast by making minimum wage fixing cars in a junkyard. It's a crude analogy at best but i hope it gives an idea of what I mean. So Terry had no formal knowledge of why the way he did things was close to optimal it just occurred naturally to him and he specified it in his own way. So there was no way to scale it as it was more artistic than academic and intuitive rather than deductively determined.

In one way yes. There are two major aspects to programming: what is being programmed and how efficient is it. Mark Z chose one of the best possible things to program whereas terry programmed something useless but with the least amount of code/most efficient way.
