Is Nimiq a gimmick? anyone mining this thing?

it has its own chain which is more than most 90% of projects. i nearly bought a few million at 80 sats, dodged a bullet there

also what does this mean? explain to me as if I were an american who plays videogames. because I am.

Being shilled a lot last summer, you can mine it on Amazon/Google/azure cloud compooters if your inclined.

you mean its own chain? most projects launch a token on ethereum. anyone can do that in a few minutes by copy pasting the code and changing a few parameters so there's nothing special about it. then they ask for a lot of money and make a lot of promises which will almost never be completed. if a coin (like nimiq) has its own unique chain they've at least built something.

ok so I guess it wouldn't hurt to accumulate. what are the odds it actually goes somewhere or finds practical application?

On the subject of accumulation they made it pretty clear the Nimiq safe isnt the best place to store it where should I store it or should I use it to buy a fraction of a BTC or something?

not sure anon that's up to you to decide. not sure where to store it either, i've never bought in but i keep an eye on it.

You can store it on a ledger so there's that at least.

There's plenty of things to like about it but it also seems like the devs all have different opinions on where to take the coin so idk where it ends up at this stage. Worth mining to have some at least if it does take off and you're not worried about immediate power costs.
