12394748 No.12394748 [Reply] [Original]

The huge pump we saw the other day was from insiders finally being given a mainnet release date and subsequently buying up large amounts of LINK.

I haven't been given a date, but I'm 90% sure it's next month. The other 10% chance is a march release.

Do what you wish with this information.

I would be extremely surprised if LINK is under $3 by May.

Hey there bud, according to the schedule you’re not on until 3pm PT tomorrow. It’s not fair for the other larpers. Go on home and get a little more practice in, looks like you need it.

How many insiders? How many people by your estimate know the date?

LINK is intrinsically worthless. Node operators can be paid in existing cryptocurrencies. Just look at the testnet right now, it only accepts ETH instead of LINK lmao. It means that ETH can easily be substituted for it, that is, if someone wants to fork the token to accept ETH (an established cryptocurrency instead of some fucking ERC20 token made with a two-man team), LINK is basically useless. That is besides the fact that everything LINK aims to do can be easily done by cryptographically signing the data from the API source.
>muh next ETH

Uh oh, pissed stinker incoming HAHA....

cringe.

have you not seen the rest of the shitcoin market? random alts are up 10% and others are back down again. thinking any price activity on chainlink was anything special is just desperation.

I doubt it is next month. They are going through extensive security audits to ensure real establishments adopt. At the conference in NYC in dec someone had the balls to ask in a round about way when mainnet and Sergey said a matter of a few months. Granted everything is easier said than done, I estimate at 6-8 month release date from that loose answer. That would mean June ish

6.5/10 fud
part about paying in eth is true, but the node isn't designed to do that
signing an api from the source can be done but you need a network to validate if it's been signed trustlessly, and the same network to agree to publish it to a blockchain

>Personally I believe May 2018 is when it will happen, for three reasons: a) Sergey is a workaholic and ironically always sets himself a huge amount of work but also always gets it done before people expect. b) A lot of firms want this done by the start of summer so they can spend summer prepping/deploying/announcing, thus having everything up and running by start of the fiscal year 2018. (I believe the last big pump and dip before price singularity will consequently be in April).
