The short term consequence is a rising AUD

Ausfag also here, our property market is finally starting to shake and you can see the media and "experts" panicking so hard it's hilarious. The front page of my local news has been desperate boomers shouting "our local market is immune to the crash don't panic" for like 2 weeks straight now. I hope we go full great depression tier, fuck this country.

These dudes are correct, Australians are unironically the most cucked by our government and media, our people are 50/50 split on cuckery but the ones that aren't are fucking dopes and too lazy to do anything so the government and media just keep assfucking them with the support of the other 50%, the "urbanites". Our media is full on state propaganda and we have no alternatives, no conservative source that even vaguely pretends not to be. This country is unironically more of a prison colony than it was centuries ago.

We probably had more freedom pre federation than we do now.

Representative democracy isn't what it's made out to be. It's really just oligarchs who subvert the will of the people.

>> No.12386296

the australian government just banned encryption and i'd be amazed if 5% of the population is aware. of the tiny % that is aware (and more to the point, the even smaller % that actually give a shit), i'd be astonished if a third of them disagreed with it. australia is doomed. the government could slide anything by the people at this point because no one would know or care.

Its just your metadata, this wont be a slippery slope. Ooops we need everything now sorry....but its cos we need surveillance of terrorists, its for your safety. Oh hey, we are going to let in more refugees, but its ok, cos we can spy on them. Surely none of them will go crazy and stab people in the city, or drive over children on bourke st. If they do, we will totally read it on whatsapp first

Oh wait...how about mid royal commission, as multiple of the big 4 banks were identified as being part of a criminal cartel, the government made cash payments of over $10,000 illegal. So you have to use a bank for those payments

US will recover from crash and other developed countries. But Australia is enjoying a long economic honeymoon and blissfully unprepared to take on upcoming recession. The root issue that will go unaddressed is - because of prolonged honeymoon and mining/real-estate boom cycles Aussi have not given much important to meritocracy. From top government down to employee levels I haven't seen more 'misfit' candidates in any other countries/economies. Because labor market aberrations are massive / economic complexity is below fucking Kazkhastan and Banks are neck-deep in real-estate loans / malpractices, it will be interesting time for Australia for next 5-7 years.

https://atlas.media.mit.edu/en/rankings/country/eci/

Prediction: With a busted China, new mining boom will occur with shifting demographic of another Asian giant - India. So short-term fucked, but long term hopefully another mining boom driven by construction and urban consumption of India can save us.

I'm glad there are so many woke Australians on /biz/. When shit goes full SHTF we will use our crypto riches to fund a new state together, I believe it. Until then, accelerationism, the decline is inevitable, let's make it happen sooner.
