BAT is a comfy hold. 2019 will be a fun year for Brave and BAT.

Really really want to see some huge independent online content producer like Ninja/Pewdiepie/Joe Rogan/Bordan Beterson/whoever start shilling BAT and start getting support from their communities via BAT. That would be a difference maker because it'd show other huge online content producers 1) that BAT is a viable alternate revenue stream and 2) that it's an option worth considering because x is doing it.

A guy can dream. Until we see some kind of unique hype around BAT, we'll just follow the same Bitcoin/alt season trends that all the other coins follow.

Bat is currently pointless. It’s only purpose was allowing the ico. You basically were donating money to Brave by buying in the ico and the bat you got in return is an ‘I donated’ ribbon. If you bought it on the open market after the ico you are a grade megabrainlet.

Not true. It works perfect with the browser. Since the brrowser blocks all ads you can use BAT to donate to a website and/or user. No middle man. funds go straight to the users balance. You can use auto contribute to let the browser spent money and you also get gifted BAT every couple of months

This argument is really weak because Brave raised a ton of money before the BAT ICO. Brave has some pretty huge and recognized investors, you'd have to be retarded to think the ICO was needed to get Brave off the ground. Simply checking the Wikipedia or Brave's own website you can find that investors in Brave include: Danhua Capital, Digital Currency Group, Foundation Capital, Founders Fund, Huiyin Blockchain Venture, Pantera Capital, and Propel Venture Partners.

Brave isn't some shitcoin where the founding individual owns 1/3 of the supply.

I don't blame you for parroting the FUD you read on /biz/ though, a lot of time baseless retarded FUD gets thrown around by scamcoin shills who try to discredit what other people support. The problem with this is that Brave and BAT are so FUD-proof. It's incredibly easy to dispel most of the bullshit people claim about BAT.

Everything you just mention ultimately translates to sell side pressure on the coin. There is nothing you can DO with the coin other than give to people. It has no underlying purpose. They should have used an existing token or cryptocurrency instead.

Yeah what could possibly go wrong where part of your business model is paying people to do something they already do for free. Nobody ever tried that during the dotcom boom and went bankrupt. But muh tokenomics and muh velocity of money will magically make it work in this case.

It's really not that hard of a concept. Brave isn't the one paying you to "browse".

A company wants to advertise online. Right now its options are fraught with 1) bullshit numbers inflated by clickbait and fraudulent middlemen and 2) users blocking their ads with adblock. Don't bullshit me and act like you actively view online ads. When's the last time you bought something due to an ad you saw from a website? Literally never. Don't even try to bullshit me. Not a single person watches/views/intentionally clicks on ads anymore.

So Brave opens up a new option where advertisers can purchase an advertising campaign that is aimed at incentivizing people to pay attention to online advertising. The clicks and numbers will be much more meaningful because 1) the user is being incentivized to watch/view the ads and 2) the user needs to actively toggle the ads to turn ON.

Keep in mind the default of the browser is to have the ads OFF. Using Brave, you don't need to watch another ad in your life if you don't want to. It's amusing to me that Brave blocks so many ads/trackers that sometimes you can't even view websites because they're so fucked with cancerous malvertising and trackers.

Anyways, the point is, you're a fucking dumbass if you can't understand why Advertisers would prefer paying for Brave Ads over paying for inflated, fraudulent Google Ads that reach 1 out of 20 people they claim to reach.

Over time you’ll understand why Bat will do well. Giving your time back and having the option to pay you for your time will in it’s self bring value to the coin and the browser

Whew lad, not surprising that once again you just straight up don't understand something about the token. Advertisers pay for their campaigns in USD which is immediately used to buy BAT to fund their campaign.

You have failed to understand in multiple posts that huge companies/advertisers are the ones creating buy pressure by having to fund their campaigns through BAT. This is why BAT was necessary, because Brave can't be running the incentivizing/payment part of the Brave Ads platform through ETH or BTC.

So content creators get their ads blocked by Brave and then they have to pay to turn them back on. If you don’t understand how that is not only the dumbest idea in the history of the internet, but outright evil, you derserve to lose your money if you buy this garbage. When this whole retarded pile of brainletry finally implodes it’s going to make bitconnect look like Berkshire Hathaway in comparison.

Lol...Buying into Nauticus will net greater returns than BAT. I think BAT is a great project, but it already has a decent market cap. If you are looking for lower market cap coins you want to look for exchange tokens like what Nauticus and Binance have. It all depends on your risk vs reward tolerance. Regardless, we need BTC to change the overall market sentiment.

desu, as much as I hate the muh team meme, Big Brain and team are some of the most reputable, well established tech leaders, not necessarily in crypto, but in the tech sphere that have entered the crypto space. Most teams are made up of random junior devs, gook scammers, and literally whos. Based Brendan has the industry connections and reputation to make this project succeed.

Aside from Vitalik, the BAT team is the only team I really have faith in. Too many people got caught up in projects without realizing the team was completely incompetent like the ARK team or the Omise Gooks

It was one of the most brutal things I’ve seen there. I’m sure the handful of crypto ‘VCs’ like Pantera (lol) know better than real software developers. Bat is going to zero.

the basic economics of this token are:

step 1

# of BAT purchased by advertisers = # of BAT sold by KYC'd ad viewers - # of BAT not sold by non-KYC'd ad viewers - # of BAT not sold by speculators and lazy ad viewers

assuming the % of non-KYC'd ad viewers will greatly exceed 0% and the % of speculators and lazy ad viewers will greatly exceed 0%, any BAT purchased by an advertiser will cause an effective reduction in circulating supply of tokens. in short, the amount of BAT cashed out from viewing ads cannot mathematically exceed the amount of BAT purchased by advertisers.

step 2

contributed tokens are held in transit for ~1 month at a time. the highest number of times a token can be exchanged like this over a year is 12 or so. the true velocity of these tokens will be slower because not every publisher will convert to fiat/BTC instantly on every distribution date. instant tipping will increase token velocity but I don't expect this feature to launch soon. ads are #1 priority, or should be at least.

step 3

BAT sent to unverified publishers will remain dormant until claimed or clawed back (no grant claw back has ever occurred I believe and it may never occur). these tokens might have an annual velocity of 1 or lower.

step 4

no inflation.

each step supports the thesis of a brilliant home run swing in the context of the technology itself, with high potential to reach a viral phase at some point in the next decade.
