Every watch beyond this gives rapidly diminishing returns.

The wearing of this watch is tightly correlated with being inside a lot of different, young vaginas.

Watches have no fucking return. Nowadays they are just accessories since everybody can read the time on his phone or his computer.
Thus using a Casio watch as an accessory is fucking retarded. Could just as well wear no watch at all.

That's a cool watch. What about your address book? You don't need to waste money on crocodile or calf skin, but you need at least leather. Do you have a black leather address book? You'll never get attention from the ladies if you aren't writing their numbers down in a leather book. Don't carry around that cheap looking plastic bound shit.

Its iconic of a more optimistic era, its retro futurisim, its akin to fashwave in that it represents a period where the future was unwritten and all potentials were still possible, an optimism long lost given the future of the 80s turned out way more mediocre.
as its so iconic of a particular era it will always be seen as a classic design thats above the trends and fashions that meander over the years, its locked into that period and its sense of the unknown future.

being locked in time leaves it timeless, which means it goes with everything from a high end blazer to casual polo shirt.
nobody owns a watch to tell the time, its all about status or fashion, having a classic casio is a statement that something about the past optimism thats now lost, still resonates with you somewhere.

I guess you could compare it to buying a 60s car or a bakelite phone as a nostalgic art piece but the casios for me are more than just a timestamp of a calender date, theyre a timestamp of an idea that anything can happen.
anything relating to 80s futurism has the same sense of the unknown, in film most future depictions were of dystopian hellholes but that was ok, it still meant anything was possible

>watches have no return
If you're a wagie, this is mostly true. If you have a respectable job around wealthy clients, you couldn't be caught wearing no watch or a poorfag watch. That would reduce your hourly rate as your value is based upon your clients perception of you.

For example, it only costs ~2K to buy a quality fitted suit, shoes, and tie. Do you think a lawyer would try to pitch to a client in a suit he picked up at goodwill instead? No, in the real world looks and confidence go a long way.

Looks include your face, clothing & accesories, and your car. Of course you don't need a Mercedes S600 to sell people life insurance, but if you rolled up to their house with a rusted 85' Civic, that would reflect poorly on you as a person and they would be less likely to accept your pitch.

So yes, a good watch can have a return and its even better to pay attention to historical resale value because it provides a margin of safety to your investment.
