Humans turned into Consumer Discretionary Products Edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, Ratsu is dumb as bag of bricks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

US sector remains bullish overall. Cresco went red today because it overextended without establishing support on the way up lately.

Interesting Canopy Growth showed some signs of life with a break out of falling wedge. I entered with small position as per trading strategy when it crossed above on okay volume on the hourly. Not much volume relative to the numbers Canopy can pull so this is a potentially weak signal. I decided to hold overnight and see what the story is tomorrow.

Giving credit for the entire budget is rediculus and a surefire way to prove how small brained you are
Clinton's surplus was caused majorly by government selling dozens of cold war surplus resources after USSR fell

Look up what happened to the strategic helium reserve after the cold war, Congress almost crashed the global helium market accidently until someone at the strategic reserve pointed out that the price crash would cause an instant global recession if they went with congress's original plan of selling the entire surplus at once

Global helium prices are still majorly depressed from the strategic reserve selling off extra, over 20 fucking years later

Also it's foolish to judge Trumps overall impact on the budget when he has yet to finish his term ( and more importantly, we have yet to see what the legacy of his policies will be)

And Obama started right around the point of maximum dip, through no fault of his own. The market ending worse off than it began when he got elected would be next to impossible, unless he magically caused an 8 year long recession as soon as he got into office

Well the Dis/Fox merger is heating up. I got the official "paperwork" (everything is digital now) all about it yesterday. Gives you the choice of what to do with your old fox shares once the deal closes. Funny enough that date is not mentioned but the 24th of Jan is the cutoff date of when your response has gotta be submitted so I'd guess sometime in Feb is when the deal will close.

Bagged some AMD shares today. After the leak about the new chips coming down the pipe I figured the stock stands a good chance of hitting $30 or higher.

5G's signal doesn't go through wall's and the range is small compared to 4G.

It will first be used in industrial application and we can hope that meanwhile someone makes phone app that takes the advantage of that bandwidth.

>Does AMD's stock have a chance of hitting $30? I figured it'd go for less than that, wasn't the peak in September-October due to the cryptocurrency craze?

Only partly, but AMD always pointed out they wouldn't go full crypto like Nvidia did. Part of the major rally in 2018 was people on the stock market catching wind of how good Zen2 is going to be. Then the whole October crash happened and people kinda forgot about it, plus shareholders actually believe Intel's bullshit that they can still compete (they can't, they're fucked for another 2-3 years).

AMD is probably going to be fucked like all the other tech companies due to the upcoming recession, although probably alot less because 2019 is going to be fucking stellar for them due to the Zen2 release. Watch out for the AMD key notes at CES in January 9th.
