Should I go all in ETHEREUM? especially with the 3 forks coming up?

a couple decentralized exchanges even support stop loss functions and host a range of stable coins, ethfinex for example. and then when you want to withdraw you dont have to wait weeks going through some centralized approval process to get YOUR money back. thats why i trade through ethereum mostly, no bullshit.

>> No.12315424

for now it seems the only decentralized exchanges with advanced features are based on ethereum

the first 2 look like scams. the last one is the real fork to upgrade the network but it won't be a contentious fork (like all the bitcoin forks) so you don't get any free coins because the minority chain dies, like it's supposed to.

>> No.12315563

>>12315447
Does holding ETC get you these as well? Logic says no, but it would be classic biz to tell everyone to buy ETH instead.

>> No.12315629

>>12315563
no because the balances will fork off the main ETH chain. I wouldn't buy those ones though, just dump because they're likely scams trying to rope in people from the bitcoin community who think forks mean free coins

>> No.12315635

>>12315519
i actually only know of two and i forgot the ones name. theres ethfinex for one. and the other i know of is like ethminium or something, only not that because i searched that already and thats not it. fuck i think i got coins on that exchange and i forgot the exchanges name already

>> No.12315640

So, coinbase will give all those new ones? Or where do you get them.

>> No.12315662

Don't bother with the forks that came from nowhere, the wallets are most likely rigged to steal private keys.

>> No.12315695

no larp and unironically yes

>> No.12315696

>>12315640
Any eth fork gets dropped automatically in your erc20 wallet. I've got tons of them that never go anywhere. I'd expect coinbase to support some of these but not until after they have a market. One of these obviously will, but you won't get it at the same time as everyone else most likely.

>> No.12315713

>>12315662
How can they do that? Even if they could, you can always move your ETH to a new wallet and then move the freebies to an exchange where they are listed.

If there will be any, by the way, gonna bump the question.

>> No.12315721

>>12315662
this. only forks that have split the dev community and are contentious produce another surviving chain and free coins. bitcoin is the only chain that does that now that ETC is dead. a hard fork is just a software upgrade, the minority chain is supposed to die.

>> No.12315730

>>12315713
the private keys are the same on forked chains and there's also replay attacks

>> No.12315758

It isn't a scam, you fucking retard.
If I print out some edited counterfeit bill and call it USD-KEKEDITION, it doesn't suddenly allow me to purchase things that originally require regular USD bills.
Literally the same with bitcoin / eth / any coin forks. It's not the same coin, retards.

>> No.12315773

How do I get these forks? Can I just leave my ETH on binance?

>> No.12315792

>>12315773
you won't get any free coins because coinbase will ignore the scam forks and the real fork won't produce another surviving chain because ETH doesn't have a fork war like bitcoin

>> No.12315796

>>12315730

>>12315696
This probably, I looked around but couldn't find anything that would seem to be worthy to go all in ETH and then dumping the freebies.

>> No.12315805

>>12315805

Again, I suppose you could buy in and hope that these shitcoins would open around 0.05 each, get the 10% and sell the ETH hoping that it stays in current levels in anticipation of the actual ETH fork, but it would also mean you'd probably have to deal with the shittest exchanges possible. Doesn't seem to be worth it really.

>> No.12315897

>>12315875
they don't send them anywhere, the balances fork from your current address and share keys across chains, so there needs to be replay protection across chains in place too. enjoy getting scammed though.
