S-silver bros...you convinced me to drop $500 on some silver. Should I buy american silver eagles, maple silvers, australian silvers, or a mix of all 3? Does it matter what years I get of the coins?

This, but if you want closest spot value during trades, go with Maples or Eagles. Youll be able to liquidate those quicker and closer to spot value.

In the end AG=AG. If you plan on hording, shit dont matter, except the integrity of the seller youre purchasing it from, as was all stated.

Becauze when the dow tanks people will return to precious metals. Gold has room to move up, but silver is proportionately way lower than gold right now. It is at an 80:1 ratio which is a historically low price. I just bought another 100 oz ingot plus bought call options for silver.

>> No.12260814

>>12260767

And yet, if you look at the price of silver during the great recession, it didn't act that way.

It went from $17.87 before to $23.69 in February 2008, but then dropped to $11.33 in October.

It eventually went up at the same time the stock market did, but if you had bought silver to protect against the crash, you would have lost money.

And even though it went back up to a maximum of $54 before going back down until now, the gains you would have made when it went up were still less than the gains you would have made buying stocks at the bottom.

If you're an American, getting American Silver Eagles is a good bet because of its high recognizability and the fact that it's actually legal tender. Even if silver somehow becomes worth ZERO dollars, each ASE is still has a value of one dollar.

If you don't want to pay the premium of the ASE, getting silver maple leafs is also fine. The years don't matter since you're buying bullion coins which pretty much don't have any numismatic value.

If you want to hedge against a crash just buy puts. The silver is a hedge against hyperinflation, and as previously stated historically low in USD and compared to other metals.

I heard that someone needs to cash out several tens of thousands worth of crypto without alerting the IRS. If that person buys well less than 10k silver at a time from different precious metal exchanges like apmex over the course of a few months (spacing out purchases and using different wallets) are they at risk? How hard would it be for them to unload all those silver coins later for cash?

Get diffrent coins, learn their history, what makes each valuable compared to their peers. Learn what to look for, like dates and condition.

Many of the coins are beautiful and worth owning at least 1

They're also mentally ill. If you've ever spent any appreciable amount of time around them you'd know how brainwashed they are and incapable of thinking outside the box at all.
They're like those freaks that have to pretend to be happy all the time or bad things will happen because their masters promised them utopia and their masters are never wrong or else.

>Why are you still in Utah if you hate them so much?
Because I didn't get to choose where I was born, the money here is good for me, and quality of life is good enough with plenty of traveling.
And mormon women are often sexually repressed enough to be fun freaks.

Buy a roll of American Silver Eagles. Just factor in the premium added to the bullion:

>Spot price + $2 US Mint premium + $1-3$ shipping & distribution
>Quantity

Average price for a roll of ASEs is $385 right now, so that's $19.25 per coin. Just remember that there's an automatic $2 PREMIUM on ASEs above spot, and then whatever markup the secondary retailer tacks on to the coin(s).

tl;dr Buy bullion in bulk to get more value for your buck

>> No.12262847

Go on JM Bullion and look around. Avoid Maple leafs because they get weird spotting on them. My favorites are ASEs Britannia’s and Chinese Pandas which carry a heavier premium but also historically gain numismatic value year after year.
