Explain to me how the gender wage gap isn't real?

looks like women should change vocations if they want to earn more, but maybe they don't want to do that

if corporations could get the same labour from women while paying them less, companies not hiring women only would get outcompeted

Many reasons for this. Biggest reason is that industries typically dominated statistically by women are less lucrative. This is because they often take less years and certifications to obtain. For example nursing is mostly women vs doctors which are mostly male. This likely stems on the difficulties of taking time to rear children and raise them. Nothing is systematically oppressing them though
