jews that run our planets financial system have at least an eye on chainlink. i dont think they're all in and going to meetings at the world economic forum saying "holy fuck chainlink $1000 EOY!!!!" but it wasn't the great memes that originally got me interested in link, it was klaus schwab founder of the WEF giving a small shoutout about chainlink in his book about the 4th industrial revolution and how technology will change the future of how money works that got me interested. then you look at SWIFT bringing them along to SIBOS a couple of times. and all of the really smart people the likes of nick szabo following them on twitter and github. high level people in the blockchain space as well as in the traditional financial space have basically vetted chainlink as a "legit" project in my eyes. which is important because im always afraid of buying a crypto that will randomly exit scam.

then you start researching what link actually does and at the end of the day its basically necessary to make cryptocurrencies useful and to make smart contracts fully useful. smart contract adoption doesnt sound too exciting until you find out how much money will flow in and out of them in the coming years.

"“Smart contracts will eventually automate the mass personalization of value exchange,” said Nigel Montgomery, research director at Gartner. “What that means is the ability to engage many times the number of customers and partners globally, but in an intimate and personalized manner dictated by today’s consumerized ‘instant response’ world. That is the aim. "

"Despite the risks, Gartner estimates that by 2022, ratified unbundled (that is, defined impact) smart contracts will be in use by more than 25% of global organizations. "

imagine link capturing even a part of that market and being used as collateral for even a chunk of those sorts of transfers. same article also points out that this is a nascent technology and not very useful yet, but chainlink is a leader in this field.

For the last 10 years people have been asking "What is crypto backed by? What does it do? Why is worth anything? Why would anyone use it?"
Chainlink is literally the tool that will permanently put all those questions in the past.

Oracles are needed to get external data onto the blockchain.
This means mainstream smart contracts, which in turn means peer-to-peer financial products (loans, insurance, ...) become possible, largely omitting the need for banks and commercial law courts and attorneys.

Oracles have existed for a while now, but they're inherently limited because of their centralized nature, making them a single point of vulnerability.

Chainlink will be the first and only truly decentralized, peer-to-peer oracle network.

If you're not sure why decentralized, peer-to-peer oracles are important, here's ETH's Joseph Poon to explain it:

And here's ETH's Gavin Wood (the guy who came up with Solidity) extolling the virtues of decentralized oracles:

In fact, Chainlink oracles are so good that even projects that don't need decentralized oracles (yet), are also using Chainlink oracles.

Chainlink is going to fundamentally alter the structure of almost every business on the planet.

$1000 EOY won't happen, but anybody is deluded if they think that LINK won't easily soar past $1000 when it reaches adoption.
