The Basic Attention Token (BAT) has value in that it's an immutable, decentralized way for content creators to earn money for their content without being censored or monitored by a centralized authority.

>Example 1: YouTube shuts off ad revenue on your video because it has a copyright strike.
Solution: people watching your video can easily tip you, while bypassing YouTube's authority to control your revenue. YouTube's power to control your content is lessened, and the viewer's power to control content (via tip amount) is increased.

>Example 2: Twitter shadowbans your Twitter account so its Tweets show up in less feeds and attract less retweets/likes/interactions, decreasing potential revenue for that account.
