Is it still possible to be financially successful if you're an alcoholic?

I think alcoholics are represented among the rich just as much as they are represented among the general population. Maybe a bit less so because being an alcoholic you tend to do stuff that fucks up your life entirely (drunk driving and such)

Yes, absolutely. I’m in AA with a bunch of wealthy recovering alcoholics. You can be high functioning - people think of alcoholics as some guy in a trench coat under a bridge with a brown bag.

Also, I’ve noticed that heroin is becoming big in upper middle class towns. You would NEVER know it by looking at these people. I’m talking white classy housewives. It’s crazy.
